Peshawar – Smart Lockdown Enforced in Four Areas

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has enforced a smart lockdown in four districts of Peshawar to control the increasing coronavirus infections in the metropolis.

A notice was issued by the office of the deputy commissioner of Peshawar on Friday. Entry and exit points of these locations will be blocked from August 13 to August 31.

Charsadda Road area bordered by Canal Road, Charsadda Road, and Pajjagi Link Road. sMahal Terai area limited by Dalazzak Road and Link Road. sStreet 3, Darmangi Garden, Warsak Road.

Shops, malls, and enterprises in the areas will stay closed these days. All meetings, marriages, and ceremonies have been prohibited. Only necessary services will stay open, such as pharmacies, basic shops, clinics, and hospitals.

The Commissioner, assistant commissioners, and other police officials will be accountable for ensuring SOPs are rigorously followed.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health ministry has reported that the Delta variety is on the rise in the region.

Delta variant

The Delta form of the coronavirus, commonly known as the Indian variety, has spread to more than 70 nations. It was first identified in India in December 2020. It is highly transmissible and seems to be more severe.

The development of this variation “is a big cloud on the horizon,” says Bill Hanage, an associate professor at Harvard Chan School of Public Health. “Delta is terrible; even if we don’t know precisely how awful, a new study has put it at maybe 40 percent more transmissible than the version we’ve been dealing with until recently.”

The variation seems to produce significant symptoms such as:

• Stomach discomfort
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Loss of appetite
• Hearing loss
• Joint pain

Other indications include skin rash, change in the color of toes, sore throat, breathlessness, as well as loss of scent, diarrhea, headache, and a runny nose.
